About me

I started my career as a travel agent 30 years ago. I remember those early days like yesterday, full of passion for travel and eagerness to plan holidays that delighted customers. Nowadays, I am a commercial director, but I am still working in the travel industry.

Over the years in the travel industry, I have gathered some excellent recommendations that I will share in my blogs. However, you will notice the influence art has on my travels, which is why I named the blog ‘Journey in Colour.’ Most of my blogs feature places famed for their art, food and architecture.

I am not an expert in art or architecture, so if that is what you are hoping for, there might be industry-specific blogs that can provide more details. Instead, I am someone who appreciates the beauty around us, which can be found in many ways, such as in a beautifully styled dish, in a garden’s design, or even in the angles of a winding staircase in a library. This blog is about slowing down, noticing, and celebrating all the beautiful art on my journey.

The photos on this page are from my recent travels. There is a photo of me sightseeing in Lisbon. It’s one of the most romantic cities I have been fortunate to visit. It’s full of music and poetry at every corner. This is where I learned about Fernando Pessoa, a renowned poet who will feature in a Lisbon post.

The cherub sculpture caught my eye on my travels to Saint Paul de Vence, near Nice. It’s a contemporary piece by Daniele Accossato, called Pallet no1 Amore rapito, which translates to kidnapped love. The gagged state suggests suppressed love and freedom. Saint Paul de Vence is one of my favourite places as the cobbled streets and shops are full of art. I’d love to know who bought the piece and where it’s now displayed!

The last photo is Casa Batlló, a striking building designed by Antoni Gaudí. Nothing has yet impressed me as much as his work. His vision pushes the boundaries of conventional architecture, and I doubt there will be another architect who blows my mind as much as Gaudí… but the challenge will keep me exploring!

I hope some of my content or photography inspires your future journeys and I will leave you with one of my favourite quotes.

Safe travels,
